The Goddess of Mercy is a widely known figure that appears in a lot of Chinese temples as a figure that represents eternal benevolence. It is often said that men should wear Guan Yin and the women should wear the Buddha. It is believed that Guan Yin could calm and stabilize emotions and temper. This piece of Goddess of Mercy carving jadeite jade comes in the form of icy green and blue in colour with very fine icy texture. Combined with detail craftsmanship, this piece has demonstrated the finesse texture of the jadeite.
